Kodak is India's one of the leading brand in Photo Film. They have got 27 C & F agent across India.

Problem:
Due to finance bill dated 10th September 2004, Photo Labs were falling under service tax and they were allowed to take credit of excise paid on raw material purchase. Photo Labs would required excise bill to avail credit which can be set off against service tax payable. Kodak saw this as an opportunity to gain the market share. So they first registered their all C & F agents under the excise so that he can issue the excise bill which can help them to pass on excise to photo lab, through distributors.

Solution:
Udyog received the invitation to computerize the excise for all the C& F Agent. They had centralized installation for the entire C & F agent, with all the location connected with 24 hr lease line. They are also having citrix server, which offers them faster connectivity. We installed Udyog Excise trading software at their head office. Develop special utility to transfer data from one data from company to branch.

Now they are using the software to the fullest

• Purchase entry of both, which is import purchase as well as well as local purchase. During import purchase it calculates CVD and for local purchase it calculates Excise.
• Their second entry is stock transfer to their branches across the country.
• Stock transfer is itself a purchase entry for branches, saving data entry for purchase entry.
