I joined Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Central Excise, including Service Tax) in October 1969 as Group A officer and after managing various responsibilities attached to different levels/functions in several places all over India, I retired on superannuation as the Commissioner in October 2004.
Prior to joining the Indian Revenue Service, I worked as lecturer in Economics and Political Science including Indian Administration, from June 1967 to October 1969, in JSS College, Dharwar (Karnataka)
I held several public meetings, interactions with members of the Trade and Business Houses, apart from making presentations on legal, procedural, technical, administrative topics. On invitation, I lectured on Creative Communication, Creativity in Management, Personality Transformation, and related subjects.
All these have enabled me to gain EXPERTISE IN:
• The law and practice of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax,
• Human Resources- Development, Management & Training,
• General Administration.
